The Ear Foundation has announced the appointment of Sue Archbold as its new Chief Executive, with effect from 1 November 2008. The Nottingham-based charity has been helping young deaf children to hear and talk using cochlear implants since 1989. Now, it has exciting plans for the development of its current activities with major national partners, which the charity says, will help it to reach more deaf children, their families and their supporting professionals year by year. "We were delighted to receive a tremendous national response to our advertisement for the post, which reflects the standing in which the work of the ear foundation is held," said John Atkins, Chair of The Ear Foundation's board of trustees. "Sue's appointment recognises her major contribution to the national and international reputation of The Ear Foundation," continued Atkins, "and the Board of Trustees looks forward to an exciting future for the Foundation under her leadership."
